Where It All Began
Valentine’s Day traces back to ancient Rome. In mid-February, Romans celebrated Lupercalia, a festival marking the coming of spring. It was a time associated with fertility and renewal.
Later, the holiday became connected to Saint Valentine, a Christian martyr. According to legend, Valentine was a priest who secretly performed marriages for young couples during a time when Roman Emperor Claudius II had banned them. He was eventually imprisoned and executed on February 14th. Over time, his story became linked with love and devotion.
From Poetry to Paper Hearts
By the Middle Ages, Valentine’s Day was associated with romance, partly thanks to poets like Geoffrey Chaucer, who wrote about the day as a time for lovers. By the 1700s and 1800s, exchanging handwritten notes became popular in England and America. Eventually, printed Valentine’s cards turned the holiday into what we recognize today.
A Season of Love & Care
While Valentine’s Day often focuses on romantic love, it’s also a beautiful reminder to show care and appreciation for the people around us — family, friends, and community.
At County Line Chiropractic, we believe love is also about taking care of your health. When you feel your best, you can show up fully for the people who matter most. This February, consider giving yourself (or someone you love) the gift of wellness.
Happy Valentine’s Day from all of us at County Line Chiropractic! 💕
