Five steps after a crash

You don’t have to do these alone. Call any of our clinics and we’ll walk you through the parts that apply to you.

At the scene

Call 911 and get the crash reported

Florida requires a police crash report when anyone is hurt, a car has to be towed, or damage looks like $500 or more. Photograph both cars and exchange insurance information.

Get evaluated, even if you feel fine

Neck and back pain from a crash can take days to show up. Seeing a licensed provider within 14 days protects your PIP medical benefits. We bill your PIP insurer directly.

Open a claim with your own auto insurer

Florida is a no-fault state: your own Personal Injury Protection (PIP) pays first, no matter who caused the crash. Every Florida driver must carry at least $10,000 in PIP. Write down your claim number.

After a few days

After a few days

Get a copy of your crash report

Reports are sold through the state’s official Florida Crash Portal. For the first 60 days, only the people involved and a few others named in the law can get one.
